Each gm BEST-N (vet) powder contains- Erythromycin Estolate BP 35.98 mg, Neomycin Sulphate BP 51.73 mg, Sulfadimidine BP 100 mg, Trimethoprim BP 18 mg & Bromhexine HCl BP 1.64 mg.
- Mode of action
-
Erythromycin is a macrolide antibiotic binding with the 50S ribosomal subunit of bacteria. Neomycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic irreversibly binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit of bacteria. Thereby inhibits bacterial protein synthesis. Sulphadimidine inhibits nucleic acid synthesis by blocking the conversion of Para aminobenzoic Acid (PABA) to co-enzyme dihydrofolic acid & Trimethoprim inhibits bacterial nucleic acid synthesis. Bromhexine breakdown the structure of Mucopolysaccharide fiber in mucoid sputum & produces less viscous mucus, facilitates the removal of mucus by ciliary action.

- Dosage Administration

Route of administration: For oral administration only.
For prevention: 1 g/Liter drinking water for 4-6 days.
For treatment: 2 g/Liter drinking water for 4-6 days.
Or as directed by the registered Veterinarian.

Common side effects: Diarrhea, Anorexia, Vomiting, Crystal Urea, Anemia, Thrombocytopenia & Leukopenia, Allergic reactions, Ototoxicity, Nephrotoxicity & Intestinal Malabsorption.
Rare side effects: Not Known.
- Precautions

Use carefully in poultry with impaired liver and kidney functions. Do not use in rabbits, guinea pigs & hamsters.

Contraindicated in poultry hypersensitive to Erythromycin, Neomycin, Sulfadimidine, Trimethoprim & Bromhexine.

Meat- 5 days & Egg- 3 days.
- Drug Interaction

With medicine: This combination reduces the absorption of oral penicillin & Vitamin K. This combination should not be used with Chloramphenicol, Lincomycin, Clindamycin & antifungal drugs.
With feed & others: Not Known.

To be dispensed & sold only by the prescription of a registered Veterinarian & should not be used more than the mentioned amount in the prescription.Fulfill the course of antibiotics according to the advice of the registered Veterinarian.
