Each bolus contains Oxytetracycline Hydrochloride BP equivalent to 500 mg Oxytetracycline
- Mode of action
-
Oxytetracycline is under group of Tetracycline which binds to the 30s ribosomal subunit of bacteria and interfere with bacterial protein synthesis. Leading to bacteriostatic but higher concentration results bactericidal action.
- Indications
-
Livestock-
Urogenital tract infection: Metritis, Retained placenta etc.
Digestive tract infection: Enteritis, Diarrhea etc.
Respiratory tract infection: Pneumonia, Bronchitis, Mycoplasmosis etc.
Skin infection: Dermatophilosis, Navel ill etc.
Protozoal infection: Theileriosis, Babesiosis, Anaplasmosis etc.
Viral infection: To prevent secondary bacterial infections followed by viral infections (FMD, Ephemeral fever, PPR).
Poultry-
For the prevention and treatment of Colibacillosis, Salmonellosis, Infectious coryza, Fowl cholera, Necrotic enteritis, Pneumonia, Chronic respiratory diseases, Mycoplasmosis, Enteritis, Diarrhea, Arthritis and Secondary bacterial infections followed by viral infections such as Newcastle disease, Gumboro, Bronchitis etc.

Cattle, Buffalo & Horse: 2-4 bolus use in uterus
Goat & Sheep: 1/2 bolus use in uterus
Dog & Cat: 1/2 bolus use in uterus
Or, as directed by the registered Veterinarian.
- Side Effects
-
Common side effect- Allergic reaction may be seen.
Rare side effect- Stomach ache, Diarrhea, Weakness and Anorexia may be seen.
- Contraindications
-
Animals hypersensitive to oxytetracycline should not be used.
- Pregnancy Lactation
-
Shinamycin Bolus (Vet) should not be used in pregnant animals.
- Withdrawal Period
-
After using Shinamycin Bolus (Vet), meat should not be eaten for 7 days, milk 2 days & egg 1 day.
- Storage
-
Store at a temperature below 30⁰C, protect from light & keep in dry place. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.

Don’t use the medicine more than prescribed amount.
