Each gm powder contains Oxytetracycline hydrochloride BP equivalent to 200 mg Oxytetracycline.
- Mode of action
-
Oxytetracycline is under group of Tetracycline which binds to the 30s ribosomal subunit of bacteria therefore interfere with bacterial protein synthesis. When used in lower concentration, act as bacteriostatic but in higher concentration results bactericidal action.
- Indications
-
Poultry, Calves- Shinamycin WSP (Vet) is indicated for the treatment of gastrointestinal infections (E.coli), enteritis, disturbances of gutflora, atopic rhinitis, enzootic pneumonia and in secondary bacterial infections.
Honey Bees- Shinamycin WSP (Vet) is indicated to prevent & control of Foul brood (both American & European) disease.
- Dosage Administration

For oral administration with drinking water in poultry & calf.
Poultry- 1 gm/liter drinking water for 3-7 days.
Calves- 1 gm/10-20 kg body weight daily for 3-7 days.
Honey Bees- 1 gm/colony, 4-5 days interval usually 3 times.
Or as directed by the registered Veterinarian.
- Side Effects

Common side effect- Allergic reaction may be seen.
Rare side effect- Stomach ache, Diarrhea, Weakness and Anorexia may be seen
- Precautions

Avoid skin contact & wash hands after use. It should not be used with Calcium salt solutions.
- Contraindications

Animals that hypersensitive to tetracycline or those have kidney & liver problem.
- Pregnancy Lactation

Oxytetracycline should not be used in pregnant animals.
- Withdrawal Period
-
After using Shinamycin WSP (Vet) poultry meat should not be eaten for 07 days & egg 01 day.
- Storage
-
Store at a temperature below 30⁰C, protect from light & keep in dry place. After using open sachet close properly and use it as early as possible. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.

Don’t use the medicine more than prescribed amount.
